Strasslein Stables was originally created back in the dark ages (or whenever it was that Lisa was a kid) under the name "Lavalier Farms".  Thanks to ridiculously understanding parents and all-too patient mentors, Lisa was able to spend vast amounts of her time as a youth learning about small equine and their care, training, showing and breeding.  She had tons of success as a youth in the show ring and bred some horses that are still being shown today.

20 years later, Lisa had a little stallion that was ready to enter the show world and I was her 1st boyfriend to not only be understanding, but also supportive of the idea of showing Redi.  I didn't know much about horses, but I understood enough about skeletal structure and musculature to see that this was one little guy who was really put together.  With his long neck and legs, fine bones and the build of an Olympic Wrestler (well-muscled, but not too bulky) it wasn't hard to see that he had some serious potential.

Agreeing to help her with her ranch dreams appeared to be just the trait that Lisa was looking for in a man and we were married the next year.

Next, Lisa decided that a new ranch name was in order to reflect our new lives together (and to sucker me into feeling like I had some sort of influence over it all).  When I suggested we just add I-N to the end of our last name, Lisa responded, "Great.  Sounds really dumb."  So I explained to her that "strasse" is the German word for street.  By changing the ending from "e" to "lein", it denotes something miniscule.  Hence, "Little Street".  She thought that was cute as it reflected well on the size of our equine.  BUT, when I told her that it can also mean a small or effeminate Strassle, she decided that it meant the entire operation belonged to her and the name stuck.
